How to Back-Test
ProSignal's Automated Alerts
ProSignal's charts allow you to back-test and view the past-performance of the automated trade signals as far back as January, 2003. To use the "Back-Test" feature of your charts, please follow these steps: 1. Select "Time Scale & Period" from the menu at the top of the chart would like to back-test. (Select a chart with automated signals) 2. Then select "Advanced Custom" at the bottom of the drop-down menu. |

3. From the calendar choose the date range you would like to view. (It can take up to 10 minutes to back-test a full year.) 4. Once you have selected your date range, set the 'interval' to match the time frame of the chart (i.e. select 1 hour for either the GBP/USD or EUR/USD 1 hour charts). 5. Click “Get” and after the data has finished loading Click "Apply” |

6. All of the signals for that time period should appear. If not right click on the chart and make sure there is a check mark next to 'ProSignal' at the top of the drop-down menu. Once you have loaded the historical data you wanted to back-test you can run a summary report of the total Profits & Losses & Averages for the automated trade signals. 1. Right click anywhere on your chart and select “Intelliscript” then “Customized Alert Performance Summary” from the pop-up windows. As illustrated below: |
