not follow proper backup and restore procedures. Our backup and restore
features are very quick and easy to use. Technical Difficulties with your Charts: If you are performing a reinstall because the software does not open or function properly, we suggest to manually reenter all your personal settings and files. If you have a lot of settings, you can try to first reinstall the Strategy Builder Software and then restore your settings (from a backup). Save Settings and Customizations: Changes you make to a chart or setting are not saved until you do so manually. There appears an asterisk (*) next to the name in the group tabs at the bottom of the charts Main Window to remind you of changes you have made and not yet saved. E.g. if you make changes in the EUR/USD tab, there will be an asterisk next to EUR/USD tab. To save changes, go to the top of the ProSignal charts Main Window and select "Group" > "Save." This will save the recent changes to the group of charts you are looking at. In the same menu there is another option "Save All," which will save recent changes to all charts in all of the groups. When you select either of these options, you will see the appropriate asterisk(s) disappear. In addition to manually saving your changes from the group menu, every time you close the charts without saving changes to your settings you get a pop up window reading "Current Group Settings Have Been Changed. Do you want to save it?" If you click YES, all changes will be saved, which is the same as "Save All." A Quick Restore Tip: If you close the charts you click NO to the save option, the settings from the last save will be restored the next time you open the software. This becomes helpful if you change something that you want to undo. Simply close the charts and your settings from the last save will appear when you reopen the software. Backup Recommendations: Backing-up
and Restoring settings is fast to set up and convenient to use. It can
be very useful If you experiment with features of the charts and something
gets fowled up. You can always restore settings to an earlier time. Create a Backup: To do a local backup, go to the top of the ProSignal charts Main Window and select "Group" > "Local Backup." Saving a local backup prompts you to name your backup and save your settings file to a local folder on your computer (i.e. "Default Settings" or "My Settings 3/15/04"). You can make as many local backups as you like. Restore Settings from a Backup: To restore settings from a backup, go to the top of the ProSignal charts Main Window and select "Group" > or "Restore Local Backup." When you choose to restore a local backup, a sub-menu appears showing you the list of local backups you have created. You can choose from any of them. Once you select to restore, the charts shut down and replace the active settings file with the restored version. Next time you open the charts, the restored version of the settings appears on the charts. |

Advanced Restore Options
Export or Import Groups/Charts, Custom Indicators or Alert formulas - For Experienced Users - |
|
To Export or Import your "Custom Alerts" and/or "Custom Indicator" files to your hard drive: You can export any of your custom alert or indicator files by going to the IntelliScript Organizer tab, select any alert file listed under "My IntelliScript" and click on the export button. This will open a normal "save as..." dialogue box where you can navigate to the location you want to save the file on your computer. Any files you have exported in this manner can be imported by going back into the IntelliScript Organizer. Click on the import button and locate the local the files you want to import. Sometimes a more convenient way to save or add your custom indicators or alerts is to copy and paste the formula into a document and manually paste them back into a new file. To Export or Import any group of charts with the Indicators, Notes or Trendlines on them. Go to the top of the ProSignal's chart's Main Window and select, "Settings" > "Options" and click on the "Groups" tab. Follow the instructions for exporting groups. This will save the file to the hard drive of your computer. Later, once you have updated your software, you can go back to the IntelliScript Organizer and import the same group files back into the charting software. This will not remember any alert files attached to the charts. If you want to move a chart from imported group into another group, make the chart you want to move into a Template. To do this go the top of the chart you want to move and select, "File" > "Single Chart Templates" > "Save..." and name the chart. Then go the the group you want to add it to and go to the top of the Desktop chart's Main Window and select, "General" > "Add new single chart from Template" and click on the name of the Template. It will add this chart to the group. Save. How to restore customized indicators, alerts formulas or charts from a corrupted settings file: If you are Reinstalling or Clean Installing because you want to fix a corruption in the software in some cases you can restore your personal settings from a backup but sometimes the corruption is in the settings file, forcing you to manually reenter everything. If this happens you will have to Reinstall the software again and go back to reentering it all manually. There is no way to export any personal options in the settings menu including cell phone and e-mail addresses, these will always have to be reentered manually if you create a new settings file. |
